There is constant change in our existence sometimes for better sometimes worse. Time has meaning only in a world where things change it has meaning for us mortals who live in cycle of birth and death, who change over time physically, mentally, emotionally and maybe even spiritually. This definition of time does not hold true for Waheguru. There are no events in time for Waheguru, so naturally time is not an entity for Karta Purakh. There is no progress/digression of existence with Waheguru, Waheguru is constant in past, present and future.
Salok verse tells us Karta Purakh is independent of time so does not change, there are no boundaries or lifecycle for Karta Purkh (ajooni saibhang). What is time? Dictionary definition is “The indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.” In simpler terms an entity which elapses between two events. Let’s think about this fascinating characteristic/attribute of Karta Purkh existing irrespective of time and being constant. Karta Purakh has always existed from beginning of time, throughout the ages, exists now and will exist for ever. S habad first begins with salok “aad such jugaad sach, hai bhee sach nanak hosee bhee sach” Guru sahib first message to us in Mool Mantr describes ‘Karta Purakh’ the immortal creator whom remained true and constant irrespective of time (akaal moorat).
